2025 RAM 1500 Review – Berwick LA | A J Dohmann Chrysler Inc

The 2025 model year will be an exciting one for fans of the Ram 1500 pickup truck as Ram is making some dramatic changes, including an exterior makeover, a new standard powertrain and a new trim level. A J Dohmann Chrysler Inc is the local Ram dealer serving Berwick Thibodaux Franklin Houma LA. We’ve been sending out email updates to our customers about the 2025 Ram 1500. Our dealership will soon begin accepting preorders, and this early 2025 Ram 1500 review is an opportunity to tell you what we know so far and answer some of the common questions we’ve heard from our customers.

Interior

All of the trim levels currently offered for the Ram 1500 are being carried forward for the 2025 Ram 1500: Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn and Limited. Ram will also be adding a new Tungsten trim level that will supplant the Limited as the top trim. Ram will continue to offer its quad and crew cabs, which both seat five. The main difference is rear legroom. The quad cab accommodates adults in the rear seats with more than 35 inches of legroom, but the crew cab really lets them stretch out thanks to more than 45 inches. Notable additions for the new Tungsten include premium leather seating and headline, a 23-speaker Klipsch audio system and dual wireless charging pads.

Exterior

When the new Ram 1500 arrives at our dealership serving Berwick Thibodaux Franklin Houma LA, it will have a refreshed and modernized exterior appearance. Changes include redesigns to the grille, hood, bumpers and lighting elements. There will also be new wheel designs and exterior color options. Both cabs have four doors, but the quad cab has smaller rear doors while the crew cab has four full-size doors. The crew cab gives you the choice of a 5-foot-7-inch or 6-foot-4-inch bed. The crew cab comes exclusively with the longer bed. The Tradesman has steel wheels. Aluminum wheels are optional and included beyond the base trim. Sizes for the wheels range from 18 to 20 inches.

Mechanical

The Tradesman HFE returns as a variant of the base trim with a focus on fuel performance. The team at A J Dohmann Chrysler Inc recommends it for the customer who will drive their work truck a lot. Ram is introducing a new option: a power tailgate that opens and closes on its own with the touch of a key fob button. Proximity keyless entry will be optional. We expect keyless entry, push-button ignition and remote ignition to be optional, but these items haven’t been confirmed as of this writing.

Powertrain

This is perhaps the aspect of this 2025 Ram 1500 review that we get the most questions about. Are they really dropping the V8 HEMI? The answer is yes, but they’re replacing it with the Hurricane. For those not familiar, the Hurricane is a twin-turbo V6 that outputs an impressive 540 horsepower while delivering better fuel performance than the HEMI. Trailering and payload numbers are improved but haven’t been made official yet. Conventional Class IV trailering equipment will be optional starting with the Tradesman and included with the Laramie and up.

Safety

The 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen is now standard for the 2025 Ram 1500. You’ll also have the option of a new 14.5-inch touch screen and a new 10.3-inch passenger-oriented touch screen. A rearview camera system is standard, and a surround-view camera system will be available. We expect most advanced driver assists to remain optional so that you only pay for what you’ll use. New options include a head-up display and a digital rearview mirror.
